City of Bonita Springs Downtown

The city's historic downtown area was slow to experience new and redevelopment. The revitalization was hampered by small and irregular lot shapes that could not economically support stormwater treatment and parking needs. Recognizing these conditions, the city elected to proceed with an improvement project in the roadways, sidewalks, streetscape, and drainage to alleviate these obstacles. As part of the improvements, a walkable downtown with a core feature and entry gateways were built. The southern entry feature was the Oak Creek Bridge. The northern entry feature was the Imperial River Bridge.
