Fakahatchee Strand Preserve Boardwalk

 Wright Construction completed the 13,190-square-foot Fakahatchee Boardwalk within Big Cypress Bend State Park in the heart of the Florida Everglades. The project involved removing and replacing the existing timber boardwalk with new materials. Extreme heat, insects, limited workspace, and strict environmental protections presented significant challenges. Wright Construction utilized a top-down construction method, replacing the boardwalk in 10-foot sections by building new segments beneath the existing structure before removal. This slow, methodical approach minimized environmental impact. The finished project is a beautiful Ipe boardwalk that integrates seamlessly into the Everglades with near-zero impact to the surrounding environment.
