Florida Gulf Coast University Alico Arena

Improvements to the 15-year-old facility and an 11,000 SF addition included a new academic center and expanded sports medicine area. The project was phased to meet the goals and special attention was given to safety and cleanliness, especially on game nights. The new academic center provided individual tutoring rooms, offices for academic staff, banks of seats for computer stations, and an open study area. The expanded medicine area included a hydrotherapy room with hot/cold tubs. Room environment features included special AC, a ventilating system,and controls to ensure comfort, air quality, and humidity control due to spa, exam, and treatment room requirements. The renovation involved expansive offices/meeting rooms for coaches and a 24-seat theater-style film room with audio-visual systems, surround sound, and special projection equipment which prevented sound from disturbing busy nearby offices.
