The Boca Grande Lighthouse required structural and exterior repairs. Steel columns and structural elements were sanded and repainted. Stair railings, doors, and other sandblasted components were repainted, while damaged windows, shutters, hardware, and trim were replaced. The gutters, downspouts, and exterior siding were also repaired. Water-damaged flooring was repaired, sanded, and resealed to restore its original condition. The cistern and the boardwalk by the elevator were repaired, and the lighthouse elevator was fully restored.
The Assistant Keeper’s House required exterior restoration, including replacing the cupola, fascia boards, exterior doors, and historic window shutters with period-appropriate materials. All windows were replaced with impact-resistant, historically accurate replicas, ensuring the safety and preservation of the building’s historical appearance. The exterior surfaces were treated for mold and salt damage, followed by thorough priming and repainting. Copper gutters, downspouts, and porch columns were repaired, and porch light fixtures were replaced to match the original period style.
