Wright Construction was the general contractor of a new replacement facility for the existing Fire Station 30 in Immokalee, FL. This project is a three-story, 12,884 SF new hybrid structure. The structure consists of concrete block construction, conventional structural steel, and a partially pre-engineered structure. The building is permitted for 62 occupants and has an elevator. The first floor has 3 drive-thru apparatus bays with bi-folding quick access doors on the existing side. The first floor consists primarily of a large bunker, gear storage room, laundry/decon room, training room, ops room, the Battalion Chief’s office, and a front entry lobby. The first floor of this project is unique as the Battalion Chief’s office is typically on the same floor as the bunk rooms.

The second floor rises on the sides of the apparatus bay and is a continuation of the stairwells, elevator, IDF Room, MDF Room, medical supply room, and misc. storage. Another unique aspect of this project is that all of the bunk rooms are on the third floor over the apparatus bay. This station is larger than a typical station as there are 10 bunk rooms, including the LT and BC bunk room suites.  A fitness center, full kitchen, day room, and two full restrooms are on the third floor.  This is one of the most unique and challenging fire stations we have built due to the nature of coordination with the hybrid structure, the living quarters, and the kitchen located on the third floor above the apparatus bays.
