This project was a three-story, 12,884 SF new hybrid structure building to replace the existing fire station. The structure consists of concrete block construction, conventional structural steel, and a partially pre-engineered structure. There are 3 drive-thru apparatus bays with bi-folding quick-access doors on the exiting side. The first floor consists primarily of a large bunker gear storage room, laundry/decon room, training room, ops room, the Battalion Chief’s office, and a front entry lobby. The first floor on this project is unique as the Battalion Chief’s office is typically on the same floor as the bunk rooms. The second floor rises on the sides of the apparatus bay and is a continuation of the stairwells, elevator, IDF Room, MDF Room, medical supply room, and storage. Another unique and challenging aspect of this project is that all of the bunk rooms are on the third floor over the apparatus bay.

This station is significantly larger than a typical station, with ten bunk rooms, including the LT and BC bunk room suites. Two full restrooms are on the third floor along with a fitness center, full kitchen, and day room. In summary, this is one of the most unique fire stations Wright Construction has built due to the nature of coordination with the hybrid structure and the living quarters and kitchen on the third floor above the apparatus bays.

The Immokalee Fire Control District expressed its pride in this state-of-the-art fire station and its significance in achieving its ongoing commitment to enhancing community safety and emergency response capabilities within its district. The new station has the resources to support firefighters as they continue to protect and serve the community. This project was a three-story, 12,884 SF new hybrid structure building to replace the existing fire station.
